Three Point Shot

Can I do a three point shot in basketball?
A few months ago I said no

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure what it meant
Alone on the court
I don't need rules
or terminology
I just do my own thing
Get in good cardio workouts
release my stress
and feel happier
than almost anywhere else

I finally learned yesterday
from some under thirty guy
who challenged me to a game of PIG
(he won, but it took a while)

after pointing to the areas outside the wide U
he said he thought I could do it

I'd tried from that distance
almost always just missing
eventually not trying as much

Today?
Nailed it on my first attempt
A fluke?
Second try indicated, yes
Third try?
Sailed right in

Before I left the court, I totaled about six
Not sure how many women my age
could do the same
Don't really care
I'm better than before
and wondering now
what else can I do

that I think I can't?
