Rock Bottom
when did the water
turn into a sea of stone
I'm familiar with the trenches
engravings in my bone
when did God forsake me?
or did I forsake Him first?
should I trek back to the water?
will it ever quench my thirst?
shall I share a toast with sadness?
tip my hat to my despair?
my anger seethes in silence
is there happiness anywhere?
the scorpion guards the throne
I'm still searching for my light
I touch fragmented shards of sun
before they disappear at night
stuck between the jaws of fate
am I something to contemplate?
my pain has become my religion
give me something to believe in
my anguish commemorates
the love my heart only gave
yet still it beats in isolation
my soul, blue and cold, on the floor
turn into a sea of stone
I'm familiar with the trenches
engravings in my bone
when did God forsake me?
or did I forsake Him first?
should I trek back to the water?
will it ever quench my thirst?
shall I share a toast with sadness?
tip my hat to my despair?
my anger seethes in silence
is there happiness anywhere?
the scorpion guards the throne
I'm still searching for my light
I touch fragmented shards of sun
before they disappear at night
stuck between the jaws of fate
am I something to contemplate?
my pain has become my religion
give me something to believe in
my anguish commemorates
the love my heart only gave
yet still it beats in isolation
my soul, blue and cold, on the floor
