Upended Rainbow

In nature there are woods
with the ambition of bees
the world of the butterflies
and the wardens of the trees
to tame the twilight

There are creeks and ponds
daydreams and rocks
pinecones and willow smocks
of scented mist
with an upended rainbow

Beneath Heaven's canopy
of parchment leaves
and pumice stones
of volcanic origin
turning back the clock
