London sun
There’s something so poignant about the London sun
But I cant seem to pinpoint it
Perhaps its the rarity of the sudden basking of a normally sodden city
It makes me feel like a freshly hatched chick
Perhaps its also how the sun crawls into the crevices within and between buildings
Illuminating the beauty of the iron red brick
Shining a spotlight on the artefacts i seem to forget about time and time again
London sun turns sodden fields into picnic grounds
London sun bustles the empty streets
London sun turns blank faces into people
Someday, I hope to find someone who can be my London sun
But I cant seem to pinpoint it
Perhaps its the rarity of the sudden basking of a normally sodden city
It makes me feel like a freshly hatched chick
Perhaps its also how the sun crawls into the crevices within and between buildings
Illuminating the beauty of the iron red brick
Shining a spotlight on the artefacts i seem to forget about time and time again
London sun turns sodden fields into picnic grounds
London sun bustles the empty streets
London sun turns blank faces into people
Someday, I hope to find someone who can be my London sun
