Too impatient to wait
for oxygen to help
it float to the surface
I muscled my way
to the bottom hoping
to scrape up some
pond scum
for an early morning
meal so that I might
gain inspiration
regurgitating
with thoughtless
reason
debouching
one more
mud puddle

I preferred the food
of the Gods
but settled for the drink
to help me think
of something from
the deep
to link up & above
consciousnesses
