WILD
we are
wild haired
and feral,
my love --
lean
in our tiny
wilderness,
alone, but not,
each finding shelter
in the heart of the other
and joy in this warm, bright star
and rich black soil,
and it is as though
all time and creation
lays at our animal feet,
its energy rising,
pushing through
rock and bone,
muscle and blood
and we are,
in this bright day,
as much at home
in this green world
as those with fur
and feathers

my love --

in our tiny
wilderness,
alone, but not,
each finding shelter
in the heart of the other
and joy in this warm, bright star
and rich black soil,
