Misunderstood black bird

I am a black bird.  
 
I am misunderstood.  
 
They say you will never fly.  
But I’ve seen the sky before.  
 
They say you will only fall,  
But I’ve gotten up before.  
 
I can do anything.  
I have my own wings.  
So I’m cutting your strings.  
 
You never believed that a black bird like me,  
could fly.  
 
But watch and learn,  
because some day I will soar through the sky.
