Private Property - Neuroscape Study I
There exist an infinite number
of gated, invitation-only cerebral worlds
that have , do, and will walk this Earth
each with innate, unique
topology and geography
towering mountains
of success, ecstasy, hope,
and altruistic kindnesses
lowest valleys of grief, despair,
and compromised self esteem
Profoundly deep oceans
replete with the wreckage
of perceived sin, shame, failures,
embarrassments, and dark,
guilt ridden dark secrets
occasionally dredged up
exposed to public view
by powerful storms of emotion
or nefarious pirates
seeking to destroy their host
mining sunken treasures of
deleterious rumor, innuendo,
faceless social media conveyed slander

Dear GW,
You said it. Your poem so aptly sums up how we don’t hear what’s said between us as humans. We’ve let texting do the talking and I’m not so sure that was such a good idea. I don’t know why and how we’re all so completely checked out and only in tune with ourselves but this write is a superb representation of behavioral actions.

Ooooh.... "gated, invitation-only cerebral worlds" -- I love this! What a great description. We imagine we know what's going on in each other's heads, but really they might as well be different planets...
