Life with colon cancer stage 3
Life with colon cancer stage 3
After my mother passed away from colon cancer at the age of seventy-two.
One day had a bowel movement, saw blood in the stool, and called my doctor.
She ordered a colonoscopy they found twelve polyps and removed and ran a test and found that I had stage 3 which scared the fuck out of me thinking back to my mother passing from the same type at the age of seventy-two.
When in the hospital my surgeon came in and told me it hit the limp nodes at that time sure wish I could see my face well Doctor am I going to die had to be the look on my face he said no caught it early just a microscope amount did and with chemo treatment should take care of it.
After leaving the hospital the following week started the chemo treatment for six months.
My doctor, Heather Brooks at Blue Ridge Care told me that I had a 50/50 chance of it returning and at this time it has not come back now at the age of seventy-eight.
I now have what is called neuropathy which means numbness in my feet and hands, one thing you can live with is that but not cancer. The longer I had cancer did more research found out the side effect was losing teeth.
Over time I have lost eighteen teeth.
Each day I wake up is a blessing and thank you, Father, for that.
