why does one turn to ....taking the "high ground"

       
       
       
    i remember when one didn't understand as to why; though it's like "emergency" breaks on a freight train of wanted & unwanted overwhelming feelings at the same time....        
       
   like that soft mattress after a long day; it's that rabbit hole that says, "hey, this is the best place" because it's an embrace that's willing to hold one tight like no other....      
       
  it's warm; it's unconditional; it raises shields from any false hopes and illusion of "fulfillment"      
       
it's always there, when everyone else has their "own cross to bear...."      
     
it's like a lover that, may make you feel like shit sometimes but never abandon one.... i've gradually came to understand this....
