a Silkworm

I was so wanting food that day
  an alley entrance vending machine
  pupae cooking in wry bowl
  walked up and down
  still before it
I kept fingering a warm coin
  in pocket
  muttered to myself
  "buy or not"
  all day through
  starvation:
  unfair of past: present: future
  nevertheless
I was only holding an empty cup.

  Silkworms eat mulberry leaves sole
until they start to be imagoes
  make cocoons
  with silk thread
  Not extremely
  turn into butterflies
  show liberty

  a silk tread?
  dirty things:
  indecent and shocking
  scurrility altercation,
  wretched pointing finger,
  great cruel thought,
  bad-tempered,
a silkworm  is weaving poetry for
who are painful to these things
  in it with it.
