Fantasy to kill

I wanted to be a rock star
But I started to late
Had a life to live
Let's chalk it up to fate
Got my first guitar
At the age of 22
Never learned to play it
It's sad but it's true

--Chorus--
Because just cause you want to do something
Doesn't mean that you will
I learned that lesson the hard way
And I'm learning it still
I spent my life dreaming
Till I finally reached my fill
No sense in wishing
Just another fantasy to kill

I wanted to be a pilot
But I never learned how to fly
Joined the air force
But I was blind in one eye
Spent my entire career
Stuck on the ground
But I'd dream of flying
When no one was around

Chorus

Now I'm writing songs
No one will hear
A lifetime of doubt
Surrounded by fear
And even if they would
I'm timid and old
They're looking for someone
Young and bold

Chorus
