Bitter Seas
A bitter sea will crash against the cliff,
As hungry seagulls surf the foaming waves.
The sky is grey and dull; it can't uplift
My spirit: I'm despondent. Rain behaves
As if it wants to drown me. Sea-swept salt
Mingles with tears to lacerate the cheek
Of one who finds herself surely at fault.
With all my future seemingly so bleak,
When the harsh gusts of wind blow salt-drenched hair,
They'll freeze the scalp and chill all that's exposed.
But this won't stir my coma - I won't care.
For raucous screams must willingly dispose
Of every other theme of misery
That might distract from angst besides by the sea.
As hungry seagulls surf the foaming waves.
The sky is grey and dull; it can't uplift
My spirit: I'm despondent. Rain behaves
As if it wants to drown me. Sea-swept salt
Mingles with tears to lacerate the cheek
Of one who finds herself surely at fault.
With all my future seemingly so bleak,
When the harsh gusts of wind blow salt-drenched hair,
They'll freeze the scalp and chill all that's exposed.
But this won't stir my coma - I won't care.
For raucous screams must willingly dispose
Of every other theme of misery
That might distract from angst besides by the sea.
