saving grace
maybe it’s a person
maybe it’s a fuzzy blanket that you own
it could be a pet, who fancies your lap
it may even be song you blast
..or sing
find it, savor it, save it
it keeps you warm
when your mind goes cold
it illuminates the darkness
that’s got you in a chokehold
can’t break free?
try a latte, or a cup of tea
it’s not always human
perhaps it’s a place
a grin
or the look of your own handwriting piercing a new notebook page
sometimes it’s just sitting and existing
when a day won’t let you do anything
i’ll sit with you
even if it’s in silence
because it doesn’t have to be an action
just a presence will do
whatever it is
find your saving grace
..
and i hope to be one too.

yes those lines are quite close to me, as many times I’ve needed a presence.. not an advisor or a teacher per se.. it can be just as powerful! Thanks for stopping by :)
