The Ballad of Girls' Education and Liberation in India
In India, the land of diverse hues,
Where cultures and traditions fuse,
Girls are born with a label on their heads,
A label of backwardness and dread.
The patriarchy has been a long-standing curse,
A burden on girls, it's only getting worse,
Education, a right of every child,
Denied to girls, with reasons so wild.
Parents want to marry them off early,
Education, they say, won't benefit them truly,
Girls' dreams are suppressed under societal pressure,
Their potential wasted, what a disastrous measure!
The society condemns girls who dare to dream,
Told to stay at home, not to be part of any team,
Their opinions unheard, their voice never raised,
Their lives a routine, like a record, replayed.
Girls are taught to be docile and meek,
Their individuality, they're not allowed to seek,
Their wings are clipped, they're not allowed to fly,
A life of backwardness, with no chance to try.
But times are changing, a revolution is here,
Girls are breaking barriers and shedding off fear,
Education is their weapon, their tool to fight,
Against the patriarchal norms, with all their might.
They're breaking stereotypes, shattering the glass ceiling,
With each step forward, their backwardness is revealing,
They're not weak, nor are they powerless,
Their potential limitless, their possibilities endless.
In India, where girls were once backward,
Now, they're standing tall and moving forward,
The ballad of their backwardness, now a thing of the past,
Their future bright, their destiny theirs to cast.
