Silent Pain

Behind closed doors, a secret resides,
Where love once thrived, now pain presides,
A silent victim, afraid to speak,
Her heart shattered, her body weak.

Her tears fall like rain, but no one sees,
The bruises hidden beneath her sleeves,
Her smile forced, her laughter fake,
A life she leads, that's hard to take.

He says he loves her, but she's not sure,
His words once sweet, now feel like a lure,
A trap that ensnares her, day by day,
A love that hurts, in every way.

She dreams of escape, but it's not easy,
The fear of leaving, her heart uneasy,
She knows she deserves better, she's worth more,
But the chains of abuse, she can't ignore.

Domestic violence, a vicious cycle,
That's hard to break, without a miracle,
But hope exists, for those who seek,
A way to freedom, a life that's unique.

So let's speak out, and make some noise,
Against this evil, that steals our joys,
Let's help the victims, find a way,
To break the chains, and seize the day.
