Falling Out

We're living in a strange time now
We're going through the motions
And making all the right noises
But we're not sure what it means
Anymore
Maybe if we pretend to be in love
For a long enough time
We'll fall back in
And the strangeness will cease
But what are our chances?
Would it would be better
To just give up
And go our separate ways?
It's hard to declare surrender
When we haven't even declared war
But maybe it'll be better than this
It can't be much worse
Than quietly falling out of love
