Image for the poem circumstance

circumstance

love is the poor man's wages

in times of darknes,
don't forget what you learned
in the light;
in daytime starknes,
don't reject fortunes turned
in the night.
when times and seasons change,
consider it not strange;
for circumstance
is just a dance
whose steps are no fool's business.

in times of laughter,
fret not on the troubles
of your life;
let tears come after,
for, when hard time doubles,
all is rife
with heaviness of heart.
choose to be victim-smart;
be not deceived,
unduly grieved:
what kind of wisdom is this?!

when you are lonely,
bring to mind the friends you
love so well;
for, for you only,
each one who befriends you,
out of hell
shall pull your aching soul,
ere death take full control.
rise up and live,
true substance give:
love is the poor man's wages.
