The Glorious People
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3.
We are made in His likeness and image. Each one, personally formed in our mother’s womb. Here the character of God is manifest in them.
“…the Holy Spirit form[s] the very character of God within. Then the outward religious actions will be the expression of the truth and power of God within.” F.W.
It is true that the Holy Spirit forms the very character of God within. However, Fred Wright means this takes place way later than when the Bible says it is done.
When you become again like a little child you merely return to your innocence, like the prodigal son of Jesus’ parable, to what we were given at birth. Each one of us starts out with God’s glorious image and then, when one of us individually goes astray, we must individually repent and return.
God is an individualist. Salvation has been available to each since He first manifest himself in the creation of man, from the foundations of the world. The wicked have forever been without excuse, as God continually reached out to them through the innocent love of their children.
So to say Isaiah 60 is merely a prophecy of things not yet fulfilled at the end of time denies the ascension and progress of our ancestors. It’s our infinite potential of innocence through rebirth and renewal in the Holy Spirit that countless children of God have partaken of from the beginning of man’s story.
