Peace and quiet

On the vast sprawling lawn
Of the castle of Lucie de Baille
Not unlike that of Louis' Versailles
Throned various statues on pedestals high

Eleutheria stood close to Venus
Also near Bacchus
Who always came up with a good wine
And a great line

She preferred to keep a distance from Mars
Yet glad of his protection
While enjoying total freedom

At her feet petals of roses as if in prayers
In abundance strewn
Freedom always being a balance delicate
Subject to the likes of Eris
Always glad to brew up strife
And, of discord, a storm.
