Heritage in Vain

I've tasted true freedom
I've eaten better than kings
I've looked down on angels
Watched them deny their wings

I've heard the sweetest songs
That nature could sing
I've sat alone in the meadow
Listening to the bird's serenading

I've laughed with the best of them
Known the truth to speak
Carried the heaviest of burdens
Don't you cry for me

I've watched the sky my whole life
And the colors it brings
I've tasted the finest woman
Looked upon what she sees

I've experienced experience
With all it's memories
And I couldn't help but notice
All that has to be

I've drank from the best of cups
Climbed the highest trees
I am grateful for the tiniest details
Anchored to my dreams

I've turned cold to survive
As life has voided my weeps
My greatest wish is to cry
My tries are stifled it seems

Between you and i
I've paid the toughest fees
A lineage of struggle remains
Cursed with misery
