Alone

Since I awoke in silence here
My lonely heart awoke to steer
My mind, my soul on a new course
Awoke the longing, made it worse

The longing not to be alone
Weighs in m heart like blackened stone
I try to find, but don't succeed
The community that in life I need

I run away from my desire
I do not want to feel this fire
Pretending everything's ok
But I can no more look away

I need to feel like I'm a part
Of something that can fill my heart
So I will put down verse again
Even if words should be in vain

I will still belong to this stream
Of people bravely grabbing pen
To bare their soul in word and rhyme
This community can be mine

And in this humble way connect
It's not enough, but it's a step
To live a life that I adore
A life where I'm alone no more
