Pan-Africanist Geek
They teach about Spaniards, Romans, Caucasians, and Greeks
But knowledge of self is what I ultimately seek
To be a Pan-Africanist geek so my weak links can strengthen
Unlocking the flood gate of my indoctrinated prison
A prism reflects a spectrum of multitudinous colors
But what's fed from cradle to bunk-bed is some more than others
So my journey is to discover my sistas and brothas contributions
Cause representation matters in each and every situation
Some ask the question why there's no White history month
Cynicism as inquisitors ingest eleven other months
Pass the blunt you're smoking and quit choking on ignorance
Not denigrating any persuasion; just conveying our relevance

Today...
I was reading the poetry
of a "hispanic American woman"...
She was talking about...
Her art/craft...
But also about poverty and the prison system...
These are very very real elements...
But the thing about elements...
They have a way of becoming...
I look at the new generations...
Generations of all colors and creeds...
How the elements converge...
I look within myself...
How the elements converge...
I was born in Graceland and I am headed to the promised land...
With the generations...
