On the edge

It was love at first sight
It was love at first night
They sought to meet once a week
For a most intense love feast

They promised to love each other
For ever and a day
He never had enough of her
No dark cloud their happiness to sway

Only one problem one might see
Was that Laura was married to Gary
While Neal, this sort of perfect Adonis
Was in full legal union with Beatrice

But that light trace of lipstick
A shade unknown to Beatrice
Was the clue helping to reveal
The ignominy of that bastard Neal

Divorce cost him a pretty sum
But at least he got away with his life
For Laura's husband always carries a gun
And always looking for a fight

Thus he had Neal in his gun sight
But after he had it out with Laura one night
Which, though terribly sad and painful for her
Helped him get rid of his anger

Ah, but some people just never learn
And Neal bounced back
With a new love got back on track
A married gal named Laverne

The man, it seems, loves a mess
For her husband, an olympic sharpshooter
Loves to keep a close eye on her
So the outcome you may very well guess.
