On Knowing the Friend

You can only know the Friend
By having a direct experience of Him.
He cannot be known by reading books -
Anymore than a thirsty man can know water
By reading a hundred books on the subject.

The Friend can only be known
Through meditation.

By -

Engaging the five keys
Used to still the mercury like mind -
Given to one by an enlightened Master
At his/her initiation.
