Staying in the dark
Maybe if I stay here in the dark
I can avoid the true dark
Chanting to myself all the comfort I know
Louder in my head
Heavier in my chest
Wanting to come out of the “dark”
But not wanting to come out of the [dark]
Trying to find comfort trying to get up
There has to be a light somewhere.

What I love about this, a great way I think to introduce yourself to the site, is it has the courage to say Hey this is me, what I think and feel, it feels honest to me. I have plenty of struggles with the same things in your theme, a lot of artists do I would guess, humans of course but I guess artists use and talk about that kind of stuff.

Really felt this one Dax.
I know what that type of anxiety is like.
The things that make you want to hide in the darkness.
While trying to avoid the true dark.
And sometimes the comfort comes in strange ways.
In that regard it made me think of self harm.
Anxiety can be so loud, so overwhelming at times.
And the weight of it and the things that caused it can be crushing.
I love how you distinguished multiple forms of darkness.
And sometimes it would seem there is no light to be found.
I could really feel the anxiety, apathy, and depression in this.
Apathy perhaps is the worst, it's like you have given up,
once the anxiety and depression have become unbearable.
I know what that type of anxiety is like.
The things that make you want to hide in the darkness.

I go through what you wrote many times. Juggling an internal battle trying to find the light. Trying to move away from the dark cloud that hangs above me. I know one thing for sure is that writing relieves it little by little. Just one poem a day moves me closer out of the internal battle. Keep up your good work. Peace to you
