speak your words out loud
with trembling voice,
if you must speak at all;
shout formidable subtleties
lest they remain locked within,
never seeing the light of day;
bellow out of turn,
roll over the top of voices
designed to cover your mouth
so that your words never reach
the ears of your intended targets;
sing with all your might,
let your throat carry it all -
your pain, your joy, your laughter -
up to the heavens where
the gods themselves
are compelled to listen

Raising my voice to roll over the top of voices designed to silence... that is something I've always struggled with. I like the strength, the confidence that this portrays.. to hear this as a spoken word....

I struggle with speaking up and allowing my truth to be heard, too. I’m working on a recording as we speak, hopefully it will be up tomorrow. Thank you so much for the RL, and for taking the time to comment, it’s always good to see you stop by!

I am very bad about keeping things in so it was a very good message to remind me how damaging that can be.
Also, I know how others can cover your mouth and prevent you from speaking as well but anyway,
this is a really powerful message. I really loved hearing it spoken as well.

Beautifully true declarative I would call it honey but there is no defining the many wonderful dimensions of who you are. I love your branching into audios!
