Carus

to all the women who
dummy their power to
solve the world’s problems
quietly, under the radar -
their autumn complexion
a strange eloquence
among illusory phenomena,
rebelling against fantasies,
little more than estimates
of what they could be,
if only
they’d always love men
who deem themselves worth
the trouble of being worthy of
only your best and youngest appearance:
my crow’s feet salute you
