Social Engineering

You choose to lose your soul in this
But who truly has control of this?
You signal your virtue
But it hurts you
You lose yourself
You lose your mind
You lack judgement of any kind
You bind your edict to this design
You spurn values that don't align
You're black
You're white
You're straight
You're gay
You're him
You're her
You spread decay
You resent the world for what they say
You censor speech; you breed the foist
They recommend which lie to hoist
They repeat the lines that hold no clout
You're in today - deflect, you're out
They mold you
They scold you
They deprive who can see through
You empty your worth
For these societal norms
You're left a shell of a man
Whilst they gather in swarms
They speak through your mouth
To spread their disease
Impossible to sell
Eager to please
