Love Woven with Our Fibers

What matters is what crosses us
That pierces our chest and reaches the heart
Winged being that inhabits our ribcage
What matters is what makes us smile and sing
What makes us hear others sing even in silence
What makes us see the smiles that aren't there
What should be there on the lips of those we love
What matters is what comes out
What leaks from our veins and runs blood
What crawls mistletoe and snail on our skin
What makes us shudder and tremble
What matters is what matters to us
It's what survives inside all of us
Of others and of any others
What matters are those we carry inside
What matters are those who live inside us
What matters are the ones we know how to love
What matters are those who know how to love us
What matters is what matters and nothing else
What matters is what matters and nothing else
All that matters is this kiss that is sent to you
Today, yesterday, tomorrow, always and forever.
