My New Year Me

I shiver
As the temps
Dip below the negatives
With this cold
I’ll be able to
Enjoy the warmth
Without hardships
I wouldn’t be able to
Enjoy success
Without heartbreak
I wouldn’t know
What real love is
As I embark into
This New Year
Different thoughts
And ways of life
Fills my head
I’ll continue to work
And improve myself
I have lots to learn
And failure I’ll endure
But I will
Shake it off
And try again
I will
Help less
Give a little more
Because…..
When I’m in need of help
No one comes
But only my mom
And a couple of friends
My circle
Is very small
My love life
Is still developing
My home life
Is under construction
But all of this
Starts with me
January first
Don’t always has to be
When change happens
It happens
When I accept
I need change
I’m the alpha and omega
Of the decisions I make
And God oversee’s
What really happens next
But this New Year
Most importantly
I’ll continue to live
Except my blessings
Stay humble
And never take more
Then I can handle
