No such things as Ghosts

It was the day before Christmas
A few hours to go
And Jenna was still at it
Alone in the spare room of the church
A room also shared at times by the maintenance man
Alone, yet not entirely so as there were a few Green Men
In various states of disarray sitting on their Corbels
Awaiting repairs by the resident wood worker
She was surrounded by a pile of colorful papers,
Bows, scissors and tapes
Happily preparing gifts for the poor in her community
All was quiet...but not entirely
As one started whispering, moaning, saying nasty things about the Bishop
Jenna was no prude, thought this was a trick
Took a hammer and smashed the one from which the noises emanated
But the moanings continued, so she destroyed another one
Yet another Green Man just laughed
She destroyed all she could, starting with the mirror on the far wall
''Ghosts do not exist'' she screamed at the walls
As the whisperings, the moaning and the laughs continued
