Devotion
it slips
and it sinks
down to the floor
until I pick it right back up
holding on tightly
kissing you nightly
for you don’t ever have to cry
please rest assure
my love for you is forever
I may not be perfect
with you I wouldn’t know it
each mistake is a scar on my heart
but your devotion is in my hands
and I won’t let it go
it’s you and me until the end
it hurts
sometimes bad, sometimes good
time goes on
finding it harder to try
but when I look in your eyes
not a damn thing can take you away
it’s your devotion that keeps me alive

That is such a nice thing to hear. Makes my day for sure. I have been very fortunate when it comes to love. And considering what kind of drama queens are out there makes me feel all the more lucky.

Absolutely beautiful DC.
I this side of you.
"I pick it right back up"
I imagined more literally my falling to the floor.
Exhausted, upset, emotional, and so much more.
And being picked back up again...
Held tightly and kissed, taking it all away.
That love is what keeps us going sometimes, moving forward, fighting.
You don't have to be perfect to love and be loved.
After all there is no such thing... But when you are, you can feel perfect.
Never lose that devotion because it is so beautiful.
And every scar is part of you, it's part of what is loved.
They make you who you are...
So often new ones appear but kissing them they write messages of devotion.
Even the challenges make the devotion grow stronger.
And that's the most beautiful thing, like this poem.

That trust and devotion is everything. To have that peace of mind. It's not easy to keep, so to have it for all these years and beyond. It feels like a blessing.
Picking each other up is very much literal as well. Heck with the pain I been dealing with she's been getting to really baby me haha.
Really I sometimes have a rather dark outlook on the world. But that love truly is what keeps me alive. I know I can be a rather flawed man but to have a person that doesn't see that, they see the good and fights for me even when I can be a jerk. More than I deserve.
