Muscovite Maiden

Earthrise over lunar luster
Of eyelash sunbeams over dais planet
Whose trellis of rose tresses
Flows in ruby Muscovite winter kisses
Designed for a Russian dacha
Where spirits flee her tongued sword
Yet she chases the Cyrillic alpha male
When holy wonder comes crashing in
And sends her washing out to sea
Of a Murmansk that holds no treasure
Save for the song of the fishermen
And the gulls that cackle for scraps
Of her maiden virtues
