How Are You Broken?

Like machines we are created
But no warranty
resigning us to what we're fated

Blueprints and schematics
We try to isolate our flaws.
Become the marketing image
Even when it hurts our cause

How are you broken?
Do you malfunction?
Just obsolete?
Do you think less
Because you feel a mess
That you're more broken then me?

The strain, the stress
When your gears dont mesh
You feel out of control
Those faults inside
You cannot hide
The workings of your soul

Maybe you got some extra parts
or missing a screw or two
How are you broken?
Just who are you?

Wiring is frayed, you short and you arc
Unstable oscillations, the frequency of your heart
Striving to be manufactured perfections
Flawless, tuned, passing all inspections
All the while ticking, springs tightly wound
Trying to ensure your rust isn't found
Tick Tick Tick
Your gears keep turning
Click Click Snap
Delusions give way to yearning

Don't buy what their selling
The automaton supreme
Don't yield to insecurity
and sacrifice what makes you be
I ask again
How are you broken?
You look just fine to me
