Quantum Level
Never, have I felt so alone
the vastness of this world overwhelms all that I am
The width, breadth, and
depth of what is
compresses this grief
into a solid mass then
lies still within my heart
Excessive tears
are simply cold
sleep
I drown in a sea
of slumber searching
for your warmth
An ocean of peace
and love that we
shared seems
out of reach
where have you gone ?
I wasn't done
loving you

Is there such a thing as beautiful pain? Probably not, but I guess this poem feels like if there was such a thing this poem would be it. You express the ache of loss so exactly I get a catch in my breathing. The closing line is like a cliff hanger with no sequel. H🌷

To read your words, hurts and aches so poetically grand, dear Val.
There's no quantifying one's own personal loss; we're all so beautifully different but you pen the truth of grief in a way that I can intimately understand and I'm aching along with you. Time... is the only real soothing force. It sounds utterly cliché but it's absolutely the truth. Hang in there, feel everything you need to feel and know that with each day that passes is an incrementally ( possibly infinitesimal) step towards healing....small comfort now, I know.
