Battle of my mind
I contemplate my existence
Question the path I lead
Look for an inner voice
A way to plant a seed
Because shrouded in the darkness
Is a light I yearn to find
A dream of a star
As I try to break the bind
An eternal flame within
But lost within a storm
Fighting to be on top
But my head is filled with scorn

Author's Note
I haven't written in a while but thought I'd post something. I do enjoy writing so I'm going to be going to college and seeing where that leads. Maybe not poetry itself but I've always enjoyed thinking and how beautiful words really are. Still trying to find my path.

Thanks for the rl and comment. I had a rough past 5 years but am finally feeling well enough to start figuring things out. I enjoy poetry and plan to at least experiment with that when I go back. Either way I plan to hopefully figure out who I truly am.

And I truly really do think that writing is the way to figure out who and how. my writing, i think to myself, is a part of the conversation i'm having with myself. and as i'm always having that conversation, like, it seems no matter what, when, and where, the part of ot that happens and occurs when i'm writing, and indeed, even when i'm interacting with other's through writing comments and letters to other, people who are on this site, that writing is a more concentrated a part of the conversation which "is the Now," more concentrated in experience than is that part of the conversation with ongoing reality which is the normal, going through life workaday about in the world conversation of Now
Even talking to others is part of that cause everything in a letter or commentmessage is a riff, it's all coming off the cuff, such is the ideal, and so new thoughts are occurring during this interlocution which (alone in my car by the popular marina) i "feel" myself to be having with you in this Now. Almost everything i just wrote is completely new to my mind, for the word concepts and phrases which are spilt are spilt in new combinations and arrangements, and thereby come new thoughts. It all your fault 😃

Keep on fighting you find the path for you. Talking to your friends might help you. Keep on writing.

It's good to contemplate these things. I'm a few decades further along than you, but still trying to figure out who I am at times! I made the mistake of thinking that I didn't need my creative outlets because they weren't part of my career path. No matter what you do, keep writing, even if only as a hobby. It's one of the best ways to think things through and express who you are. And we're here cheering you on as you figure it out!
