Getting older (not wiser)

Nothing's changed but I'm still getting older

The days pass by as I wait around

For the world to change, but I just feel colder

I can't stay here and remain the same person

That wasted away and cried on your shoulder

No more of the same, cus I must get bolder

Still young but I can't rely on my youth

Cus at some point I have to face the truth

That time will pass me by if I don't live

Every day like it was my last

Or else I won't survive

and just be another who simply passed

I want to leave my mark

and not remain a speck

Live a life that's not so dark

and build something like the Aztecs

Something that endures after I'm gone

Something that will push humanity

In a way, for us to see a new dawn

Where we can live far away from insanity

While prospering as we should

In a world where everyone gets the chance

At doing what they wish they could

instead of suffering in their harsh circumstance

And living a happy adulthood
