Brighter Days
Morning rain and afternoon storms
Today yearns for yesterday's sun
Yesterday, bright and balmy, dreams
Of a year of summer
I once lived in the sun
But today with the gentle tears
Of a rain shower
Today cries itself to sleep
As night closes in
I am the moon and the morrow
I was yesterday, but am now today
The sun no longer shines on me
Dark days and a deluge of rain
But I still remember the sun,
I remember the dream
And what could have been
So, I cry with the rain
And dream of brighter days
Today yearns for yesterday's sun
Yesterday, bright and balmy, dreams
Of a year of summer
I once lived in the sun
But today with the gentle tears
Of a rain shower
Today cries itself to sleep
As night closes in
I am the moon and the morrow
I was yesterday, but am now today
The sun no longer shines on me
Dark days and a deluge of rain
But I still remember the sun,
I remember the dream
And what could have been
So, I cry with the rain
And dream of brighter days
