Public Travel Gloom (Depressing poem warning)

London Two P.M
The sky was dark
The day had died
Before it lived
Memories sang:

I wanted to thrill you all night
Then hold you softly till the day light
You liked to watch me suffer in pain
You wanted me to love you in vain

The plates crashed
The mountains danced
The hills woke up
Covered in grass

Man on the bridge
Hunch back, hunched over
Black overcoat
Searching for his last marble
Finding nothing
Losing the game
People pass Frightened
Avoiding his lost eyes

On the motorway
Out of the city
Today had yet to flower
The night never fails
