a broken childs rage
I close my eyes and I can almost hear them
The links of choices that trail behind me
Rage born of innocence being broken
Some will always say I was born wrong
From the wrong family, wrong side of the highway
Incarnated from the screaming side of the soul pool
It's so heavy tonight the weight behind me
They're so damn heavy and I ache
I ache for the child I could have been
Dandelions grow in concrete cracks
Nature is undeniable and inevitable
And there will always be a fight in me
Because I will not let this define who I am
I'm so much more than these heavy chains
The links of choices that trail behind me
Rage born of innocence being broken
Some will always say I was born wrong
From the wrong family, wrong side of the highway
Incarnated from the screaming side of the soul pool
It's so heavy tonight the weight behind me
They're so damn heavy and I ache
I ache for the child I could have been
Dandelions grow in concrete cracks
Nature is undeniable and inevitable
And there will always be a fight in me
Because I will not let this define who I am
I'm so much more than these heavy chains
