Roundtrip

fingers reaching from the Sun
tickling the Earth
golden sunlight has begun
another morning's birth

crows are streaming from last night's
roost among the trees
gulls are screeching as sunlight
reflects before it flees

ricocheting here and there
eventually to fly
through the thinning atmosphere
above the clear blue sky

on and on 'til it collides
with something that's unseen
shedding light, reflects and slides
to twist into a beam

radiating all around
and back towards the Sun
where golden sunlight now is found
as the day's begun....
