Picture This
How I wish I could see
An image of your today
The face of now
A picture of your November eyes
Your current lips
Would you wear a smile?
Or display that pensive look of desire?
Would you try a poker face?
Only show a stern unsmiling mouth?
Would your eyes sparkle in a grin?
Or slink back in a grimace?
Would worries dim their shine?
Do they fear to show their truths?
You could never know
Just how strong my wish
To see a recent you
for my face
does not hide
An image of your today
The face of now
A picture of your November eyes
Your current lips
Would you wear a smile?
Or display that pensive look of desire?
Would you try a poker face?
Only show a stern unsmiling mouth?
Would your eyes sparkle in a grin?
Or slink back in a grimace?
Would worries dim their shine?
Do they fear to show their truths?
You could never know
Just how strong my wish
To see a recent you
for my face
does not hide
