Here In The Darkness

Locked here in the darkness, trying to find the key to happiness.

Boldly taking each day as if it's the last, For the heart can't take this pain how long before it pass.

Driven out frustration and anger keeps surfacing the air, Where is the happiness man this isn't fair.

Heart fluttering like its bout to take its last beat, Can't let this darkness win must stand to defeat.

Negativity hiding deep in the cut, patiently awaiting for all the doors to be slammed shut.

Here in the darkness the shadows hide, Smothering the soul and trying to kill its pride.

Pulling away from the center of it all, Must press forward and refuse to take this fall.

In the darkness only one can truly see, It's what's hidden deep in the soul that's trying to break free.
