Lost in Translation [ Sayonara Edit ]

INT. HEART FOYER - NIGHT

Hotel corridors thrust strangers to run-a-way
Marital customs are wilful to declare their cargo null and void.
If you loosen seat-beats, you can count the barren fields between you.

CUT TO:

A crowded street.

A beautiful face never to be seen again has looked deeply into your eyes, with some silent or mute message, that you will never be allowed the time or intimacy to understand.

CUT

INT. KARAOKE BAR’BITURATE – NIGHT

When the neon moon is in the Shinano River
Whisky cuts throats of the cherry blossom,
Pink blood serenades the chrome silhouettes
Shifting deeper into the darkest alley.

Dismantle the electronic pulse and place in
Hearts of those who only wish to roam.

It’s only the end of the World.

EXT. PARK LIFE – DAY

Dear Departed
We are gathered her to celebrate the Union (City Blues)
Of this stranger to A.N Other,
You may kiss the wide (open spaces).

To tell love everything, by saying nothing,
Should be the vows to rest on lips.

Mode Off:

All, the collected life actors,
Recite truth under tomb-silent breaths,
Let’s burn a bonfire of broken neon signs
And name the flames Poem

Author's Note
ERULGCT 195. Trimmed version. Inspired by the film of the same name. There is much conjecture as to what Bob whispered to Charlotte at the end. Probably best it remains a mystery. I adore this film. ‘Sayonara’ can actually mean ‘farewell forever,’ not simply ‘goodbye’ (or so I’m told).
