Love Thyself

Enter Dante, Master of Arts.
It’s a place to start and on to far,
Away I stray and I will never return.
The books are black, the stories yearn,
To be told and cold, for warm is happy.
Life is hard and so is family.

In darkness is where I find myself.
My personal Hell, my place to dwell
And create, but wait, I simmer longer,
If left alone to bubble under.
For on the other hand, I came back stronger
And only at night can I truly plunder.

Dig up the corpse and wear it proud.
Tear off its crown, we’re going down,
For only when deep can we truly see,
Our inner being, our majesty!
And in its light we are magnified.
Our ego grows, impossible to despise,
But that is where our heart exists.
Gave up on wife and kids and ting;
For they are only wasted wishes.
Get real kid, do your own dishes.
Use your own thoughts, inspire yourself.
Get up about and escape your Hell.

So why on Earth do I need a Her?
I got myself into this, my bed to stir,
And toss and turn, so let it burn.
Ashes fall, pages turned,
Words are lost to the evening’s blur,
As eyes half open, taking nothing in.
A token attempt disguised as sin,
And in these times of single-handed pleasing’s,
Almost dreaming, never feeling, only dreaming,
What is not there, send me anywhere,
But right here, right now, give me the clouds,
And all the silver linings I can spout,
But please never leave me alone in this drought.
