Step Inside

Would you like to come in for a minute?
There are some things I’d like to show you, and perhaps steal a chance to get to know you. My door is always open, but you already knew that.

I have waited for a long time to see your home. Through the windows and the garden I’ve gathered what I could, yet I’d like to see the view from the places that you stood.

I could break in, you know I could. However, I would never betray a trust so pure and good. It’s about the respect I have for you and I, so I’m almost satisfied to just wait and see.
What happens?

I’ve never asked you for much, just a space to listen.
When I speak to the valleys, I hear my voice return, but that doesn’t mean the rocks it bounced off even really heard.
Yet with you, my voice is swallowed, an echo promised, never returned.
You live and learn

Your space means so much to you, which presents to me a quandary.
I want it.
Yet I don’t.
If it’s that special, I must have it for myself.  I love you in a new way, so I let it alone.
Finding a balance, tides swirling in a sacred chalice.
Push and pull, come and go.
Wash away the footprints leading to what I need to know

I know it’s a tall order, but if you ever want to ride with me you’ll find me on the border line of broken dreams, crafting up concoctions to medicate my awoken queens
Smoking bongs and singing songs
Grafting on my soulmate shit
Mirrors revealing a dimly lit pupil just as I dilate it

It’s all a song and dance even when I’m shut the fuck up sitting flat on my arse.
A rare humanoid that fills the void and cracks the Spartan devoid of true feeling.
One of the few people who could break my gaze away from the ceiling, wordlessly screaming.
I hope you fully ingest that last lines truest meaning

There are many easier ways to say that I love you and I care, yet this way is mine alone and nobody else could have matched this stare.
Would they want to?

Regardless, I approach you card-less, please regard this gift as a lush garden.
Let the words flow, sumptuous ideas grow
I filled in the blanks but left space so that you would know
I love you with a balance
