His Life Laid Down

With thorns they crowned his head
From his lips no words he said
With nails they pierced his hands and feet
After he pulled his cross through the street
 
Father forgive them was his cry
Before he hung his head to die
There in his tomb he did lay
Until he was raised on the third day
