In a Small Boat

floating on a clear calm lake
sunlight sparkling as we take
pleasure in what's all around,
birds are singing with their sound

bouncing off the water to
echo, pleasing me and you...
then drifting in a gentle breeze
rustling through the forest's leaves...

all is one but we are two
beings under very blue
warm and arching summer skies,
letting go whatever ties

us to this waking dream
of all of space and in between
of the Earth and when we leave -
all is one, the air we breathe

water molecules and too
thoughts that stream from me to you
feelings from so long ago
bubble up so we can know

all is one as we evolve
all is one as we revolve
sunlight sparkling as we float
on a lake in a small boat...
