The Darkest Light
Lore and darkness I desire,
Because my ancestors come from the mire,
The pagan witches and Goddesses too,
Not much from thee I ask of you,
A taste for spells to graze my lips,
And hence flow from my fingertips,
A chance to feel our bond through power,
From times of old to come this hour,
The songs of home I've learned to sing,
They fill my body with a most precious sting,
The words I sing in ancient tongue
My soul a new it has become,
A witch of light I'd like to be,
Though the darkness calls out to me,
To take its hand and snare my heart,
Could I be witch in light and dark?
Today who sings the words of old
Julie Fowlis with of voice of Gold,
Is she truly of this age?
Or has a spirit of the past made her it's grave?
Because my ancestors come from the mire,
The pagan witches and Goddesses too,
Not much from thee I ask of you,
A taste for spells to graze my lips,
And hence flow from my fingertips,
A chance to feel our bond through power,
From times of old to come this hour,
The songs of home I've learned to sing,
They fill my body with a most precious sting,
The words I sing in ancient tongue
My soul a new it has become,
A witch of light I'd like to be,
Though the darkness calls out to me,
To take its hand and snare my heart,
Could I be witch in light and dark?
Today who sings the words of old
Julie Fowlis with of voice of Gold,
Is she truly of this age?
Or has a spirit of the past made her it's grave?
